Fishing report
Yellowstone National Park
Firehole River
Flows are around 450cfs, but constantly up and down. The fishing on the Firehole can be incredible this time of year especially as it warms up. This is an incredible dry fly river, look for Beatis, PMDs, and Caddis. You can also find stoneflies in the canyon. If you're not experienced at dry fly fishing, nymphing and swinging soft hackles will find you success.
Gibbon River
Flows are around 150cfs. The Gibbon fishes great this time of year as well. The flows are really up and down, but look for beatis, caddis, and stonefly hatches.
Madison River
Flows are around 700cfs. The Madison should start seeing pmd’s in the morning, and caddis in the evening. The stoneflies should come in a few weeks as well.
Cody, Wyoming
NORTH FORK OF THE SHOSHONE
Flows are around 2500cfs. They did drop below 1200 during a cold spell, and the river fished well. Remember closed until July first from Gibbs Bridge to newton creek. Looking at the extended forecast the river has a slight chance of fishing well tomorrow into Friday morning.
SOUTH FORK OF THE SHOSHONE
Flows are around 1420cfs. The south fork is running pretty dirty, but should fish well during days under 60.
LOWER SHOSHONE
Flows are at 1270cfs. The fishing has been great. The water gets dirtier from tributaries the further you get downstream. Look for heads during caddis hatches. Also try nymphing the runs, and streamer fishing the banks.
Thermopolis, Wyoming
BIGHORN RIVER
Flows were bumped to 1320cfs. The fishing has been decent. Baetis, worms, and sowbugs have been working the best.
