What People Are Saying

“We spent two days bird hunting and one day fishing. We can’t wait to book another trip. The terrain can be rocky, steep, and a little tricky to navigate but this is where the wild birds are found. Definitely had to work for it… We could not have possibly asked for a better three days in the outdoors and Ryan’s guiding and company was superb. Highly recommend.”

“Ryan and Wyoming Wings and Waters provided a great hunt and a bucket list memory. The dog work was outstanding, all on a backdrop that you have to see with your own eyes to believe. This was a first-class experience from the get-go and I would highly recommend his outfit. Our two-day hunt was exceptional and I cannot wait to rebook for the following year… His preparation, communication, and personalized touch were exceptional. I cannot say enough great things about the guide and the company....the results speak for themselves.”

“What an incredible, true wild bird experience. Ryan was an absolute gentleman and an extremely knowledgeable and passionate guide. A true pro. Exceptional dog work! Incredible views with the Big Horns in the distance… Some of the most beautiful country in the world! My only regret is that we did not book this for three days!”

Meet the Dogs

Bird Species

  • Hungarian Partridge

Hun hunting in Wyoming is an exceptional adventure. With many coveys living within close proximity to each other, it's a blast every time.

  • Chukar Partridge

Chukar Hunting in Northwest Wyoming is unquestionably underrated. “Run first, fly second,” is the Chukar's motto, and with large coveys living in some of Wyoming's roughest terrains, this hunt can be a challenge. For hunters up for the task, wild chukar can be one of the most rewarding upland species out there.

  • Sharp-Tailed Grouse

Eastern Wyoming is home to some exceptional Sharp-Tailed Grouse hunting. After a flush, their strong flying can be exciting to witness.

  • Ruffed Grouse

The Ruffed Grouse is one of Wyoming's few forest birds available to hunt. Their preferred habitat makes for a tough, yet enjoyable, hunt.

  • Dusky (Blue) Grouse

Often living in fairly open areas, blue grouse are fun to work with dogs. Sometimes the biggest challenge to hunting this bird is finding it.

  • Ring-Necked Pheasant

In Wyoming, chasing Ring-Necked Pheasants is a unique experience. These "desert roosters" offer hunters a challenge like no other. With strategic dog work and clever tactics, you might just outsmart these elusive birds.

Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
You should bring cold and hot weather gear, hiking boots (preferably waterproof), a shotgun, shotgun shells, a Wyoming bird license, and a conservation stamp if you’ve purchased the yearly license. Additionally, bring any special drinks or snacks if you prefer them over the provided options.

CAN I DRIVE MY OWN TRUCK?

Yes, however, this is wild, western Wyoming. Our guides' trucks will be dusty and dirty inside and out. If you would like to follow your guide, expect to burn half of a tank of gas and know that Wyoming Wings and Waters is not responsible for any damage caused to your vehicle during your trip with us. We recommend hopping in our guides’ trucks and letting them beat up on their own vehicles.

WHAT IS THE PAYMENT POLICY FOR WINGSHOOTING?

A 50% deposit is required within 15 days of booking to secure your spot. Deposits are non-refundable unless you cancel 6+ months before your trip. About a month before your hunt, you will receive an invoice for the remaining balance along with general information for your upcoming trip. The remaining balance is due the day of your trip. Receipts are available upon request. Payments and deposits can be made by cash, personal check, cashier's check, money order, credit card, or debit card. We offer a 10% cash discount. A valid card must be put on file for all bookings. That card will be charged the full amount for any no-shows. A 10% tip will be added to that card for anyone who decides not to tip.
